These days

I lead a small design team at Conduent, working on enterprise software that people use every shift. Most of my day isn’t pixels. It’s sitting with stakeholders, users and architects, asking a lot of questions, and working out what’s actually worth building. My developer years still help. I know what’s hard to build before I ask for it.

How I work

I’d rather understand the problem than jump straight to screens. I like it when problems are talked about openly and trade-offs are honest. I write a lot down, because our team is spread across time zones and nobody should be stuck waiting on me. And I try to make sure everyone in the room gets heard, so we can actually use each other’s strengths.

I’m always looking for ways to get better at this, and to help others do the same. That’s a big part of why I enjoy a good coffee chat.

Off the clock

I’m an early riser, and most mornings start with a long run. The rest of the time I’m probably wandering somewhere new, reading about why people do what they do, making some digital art, practising mindfulness, or looking for good food.
